As a result of chronic progressive disease diagnoses in 2015, Samantha ended her career in Adult Social Work to deal with a succession of medical issues and significant life events. In the intervening years between then and now, Samantha was challenged and educated about the inadequacies in housing provision, local authority mental health care and services for informal carers. It is from the perspective of both a provider and recipient of services, that Samantha writes her uninhibited, piquant and accessible poetry on subject matters ranging from female sexual assault to hoarding disorder. Poems are written from both personal experience and character protagonist perspectives with a lightness of touch that leaves you contemplating the subject matter within the verse and the call to action therein.
